COMMUNITY ARTS ORGANIZATION CODE OF CONDUCT AGREEMENT
Connecticut Clay Guild is dedicated to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and respectful environment where individuals of all backgrounds can connect, create, learn, and engage with the arts. We believe in the power of the arts to build community, inspire creativity, and enrich lives. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all participants, members, volunteers, staff, instructors, and visitors (collectively referred to as "Participants") involved in our programs, activities, events, and spaces. By participating with [Insert Community Arts Organization Name], you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
Expected Conduct:
All Participants are expected to:
Respect and Inclusion: Treat all individuals with courtesy, respect, and dignity, regardless of their age, race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, religion, socioeconomic status, or artistic experience. Foster an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are welcomed and valued.
Safety and Well-being: Prioritize the safety and well-being of yourself and others. Be mindful of the physical and emotional space of others. Report any unsafe conditions, suspicious behavior, or incidents of harassment or discrimination to a staff member or designated volunteer immediately.
Positive Communication: Communicate respectfully and constructively. Avoid offensive language, bullying, harassment, intimidation, or any form of discrimination, whether verbal, written, or non-verbal.
Responsible Use of Space and Materials: Treat all facilities, equipment, and materials with care and respect. Follow instructions for their proper use. Clean up after yourself and contribute to maintaining a tidy and organized environment.
Respect for Artistic Expression: Appreciate and respect the diverse forms of artistic expression that may be encountered within our community. Engage with artwork and performances in a thoughtful and considerate manner.
Adherence to Policies and Guidelines: Follow all posted rules, regulations, and guidelines established by Connecticut Clay Guild or host studios for specific programs, events, or spaces.
Appropriate Interactions: Maintain professional and appropriate boundaries in all interactions. Be mindful of power dynamics and avoid any behavior that could be perceived as exploitative, harassing, or inappropriate.
Unacceptable Conduct:
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated:
Harassment in any form, including but not limited to verbal, physical, sexual, or online harassment. This includes offensive comments, unwelcome advances, intimidation, and discrimination.
Bullying, intimidation, or threats directed towards any individual.
Discrimination based on age, race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, religion, socioeconomic status, or artistic experience.
Theft, damage, or misuse of the Organization's property or the property of others.
Disruptive behavior that interferes with programs, activities, or the enjoyment of others.
Possession or use of illegal substances or excessive consumption of alcohol on Organization premises or during Organization-sponsored events (unless explicitly permitted and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations).
Bringing weapons of any kind onto Organization premises without explicit authorization.
Any behavior that violates local, state, or federal laws.
Reporting Violations:
If you experience or witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to a staff member or designated volunteer. All reports will be taken seriously and addressed promptly and appropriately.
Consequences of Violations:
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, which could include warnings, temporary suspension from programs or activities, or permanent expulsion from Connecticut Clay Guild without a refund for future events or unused membership. The Organization reserves the right to determine the appropriate course of action based on the severity and circumstances of the violation.
PHOTO AND VIDEO RELEASE AGREEMENT
For good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, I hereby grant to Connecticut Clay Guild, its agents, employees, representatives, licensees, successors, and assigns (collectively, the "Organization"), the irrevocable right and permission to photograph, film, videotape, audiotape, and otherwise record my image, likeness, voice, performance, and biographical information (collectively, the "Recordings") in connection with all meetings, workshops, events, and other activities hosted by Connecticut Clay Guild.
I understand and agree to the following:
Ownership of Recordings: Connecticut Clay Guild shall have exclusive ownership of all rights, title, and interest in and to the Recordings, including but not limited to copyright, and shall have the sole right to use, reproduce, distribute, display, exhibit, broadcast, modify, edit, create derivative works from, and otherwise exploit the Recordings, in whole or in part, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world, in perpetuity, for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to promotional, educational, artistic, documentary, advertising, and fundraising purposes, without any further consent from or payment to me.
Use of Name and Likeness: I hereby grant the Organization the right to use my name, likeness, voice, biographical information, and any statements made by me in connection with the Recordings and the Organization's activities, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world, in perpetuity, for the purposes described in paragraph 1, without any further consent from or payment to me.
No Compensation: I understand and agree that I will not receive any compensation or payment of any kind for granting the rights and permissions herein, or for my participation in the Recordings.
Release of Liability: I hereby release and forever discharge the Organization, its agents, employees, representatives, licensees, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, expenses, and liabilities of any kind or nature whatsoever, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with the Recordings or the use thereof, including but not limited to claims for invasion of privacy, defamation, false light, or infringement of any intellectual property right.
VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT:
The Connecticut Clay Guild and its members appreciate any member’s willingness to volunteer their time or services, and desires to formalize the terms of a volunteer relationship should a member choose to volunteer their time or services. Please note that Connecticut Clay Guild Members are not required to volunteer anything to the Organization. Participation as a volunteer is optional and up to the discretion of each individual member.
In consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements hereinafter set forth, the parties agree as follows:
1. Volunteer Role and Responsibilities:
The Volunteer agrees to perform any promised responsibilities to the best of their ability and in accordance with the Organization's policies, procedures, and the instructions of their designated supervisor.
The Volunteer understands that their volunteer role is unpaid and that they are offering their time and skills on a voluntary basis.
2. Time Commitment:
The Volunteer understands that an estimated time commitment for a role or task may be subject to change based on the Organization's needs and the Volunteer's availability. The Organization will strive to provide reasonable notice of any significant changes.
3. Benefits of Membership:
The Volunteer acknowledges that their contribution under this agreement is separate from the benefits they receive as a paying member of the Organization. This volunteer agreement does not alter or supersede the terms of their membership.
4. Code of Conduct:
The Volunteer agrees to adhere to the Organization's Code of Conduct.
5. Confidentiality:
During their volunteer service, the Volunteer may have access to confidential information about the Organization, its members, donors, or activities. The Volunteer agrees not to disclose any confidential information to any third party without the Organization's prior written consent. This obligation of confidentiality shall continue even after the termination of this Volunteer Agreement.
6. Intellectual Property:
Any work product, materials, or intellectual property created by the Volunteer in the course of their volunteer service shall be the sole property of the Organization. The Volunteer hereby assigns all rights, title, and interest in such intellectual property to the Organization.
7. Termination:
This Volunteer Agreement may be terminated by either party at any time, with or without cause, upon providing reasonable written or verbal notice to the other party.
The Organization reserves the right to immediately terminate this Agreement if the Volunteer engages in any conduct that is deemed detrimental to the Organization or violates the Code of Conduct.
8. No Compensation:
The Volunteer understands and agrees that they will not receive any monetary compensation for their volunteer services under this Agreement. This is a voluntary contribution of their time and skills.
9. Liability and Release:
The Volunteer acknowledges that there are inherent risks involved in participating in any activity, including volunteer work. The Volunteer hereby agrees to release and hold harmless the Organization, its officers, directors, employees, and other volunteers from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, expenses, and liabilities of any kind or nature whatsoever, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with their volunteer service.
10. Entire Agreement:
This Volunteer Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether oral or written.
11. Governing Law:
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
