The Workshop Program at the Alison Palmer Studio offers an immersive learning experience for ceramic artists in a truly inspiring setting. This studio provides a retreat-like environment where artists can step away from their daily routines and focus deeply on their creative practice.
Each year, the program hosts approximately 12 workshops, welcoming a diverse range of instructors—from respected regional makers to international artists traveling from countries such as Japan, Denmark, and New Zealand. These workshops provide participants with the opportunity to explore new techniques, exchange ideas, and engage with a global community of ceramic artists in an intimate, hands-on setting.
The combination of world-class instruction and the peaceful natural surroundings makes the Alison Palmer Studio workshop program a unique destination for learning, inspiration, and connection within the ceramic arts community.

Both day and evening classes are offered four times a year, and are taught by studio-certified teachers. Classes are generally geared for beginning and intermediate students. We keep our class size small with a maximum of 9 students to ensure we meet the needs of the novice potter, while also challenging the more skilled potter. The Color House
www.cohoct.com
-
The Color House (or as we have come to call it, The CoHo) was created as a place for community to connect with their creativity. Founded by public school art teacher and artist Tina Parsadanov, she wanted to create a fun and cozy place where people of all ages could come to learn and practice all sorts of creative visual arts. It started as a small pottery studio in the basement of her home and has become a beautiful brick and mortar storefront in the Westchester section of Colchester, CT. The CoHo offers walk-in paint-your-own pottery, a small artisan shop, and classes in pottery/ceramics, canvas painting, and several other crafts. The CoHo also offers an open studio membership where members can come to work on projects like pottery or canvas painting 24/7. The Color House is all about celebrating the arts and our shop is no different. You'll find a variety of items from artisan wares including pottery, jewelry, and fun little gifts. Come on over and check us out! We hope you visit us soon

Purring Pottery

Purring Pottery began in my small apartment kitchen/studio. My kitty Mischief was completely intrigued with the spinning disc that threw wet mud everywhere. My living space became a clay paw print and the vessels I created were paw and fur stamped, texture in her eyes. Since then, several moves, more kittys and kitchen/studios, I finally have my studio space located in Colchester, CT.
I bless all my clay with healing energies through Reiki, good vibes in all my pieces. My pottery is wheel thrown combined with some hand-building and all glazes are non-toxic, lead free, microwave and dishwasher safe.

Located in the Armory on the first floor
At Silk City Clay, we’re building a creative community where beginners and experienced potters alike can learn, make, and connect. Our studio offers hands-on experiences in a welcoming environment with access to talented instructors, supportive staff, and professional pottery equipment. Whether you’re looking for a full 8-week class, a studio membership, or a one-time Clay Night class to try something new, there’s a place for you here.
Silk City Clay was founded through a shared vision between Stephanie Haines, founder of the Connecticut Clay Guild, and Pedro Centeno, owner of Junk Pot Studio in West Hartford, CT. After Stephanie began teaching classes at Junk Pot in 2024, the two quickly connected over their passion for pottery, education, and building creative community. Bree Maxwell
Founder, Artist, and Overly Excited OwnerI got the bug! Holly introduced me to my first clay class at Springfield College — oh boy, she was right. I couldn’t put the clay down or stop thinking about all the things I could make. After graduating with an art minor, I went on to study ceramic art at SUNY New Paltz and the University of Colorado Boulder.
While living out west, I ran my own ceramic art studios in Denver and Boulder while also working in the technology industry. But eventually, I knew it was time to return to the studio full-time.
Studio 467 is the result of that journey — a fully functioning ceramics studio offering a variety of clay classes, artist studio rentals, and a vibrant gallery and community space.
I created Studio 467 to be a place where people can discover the joy of working with clay, pick up a unique handmade gift, join a supportive art community, or simply stop in to see what creativity looks like in action.
